Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is in-home personal training?

In-home, or mobile personal training involves a certified fitness trainer coming to your home to provide personalized workout sessions based on your goals, fitness level, and available equipment. This type of training offers the convenience of exercising in your own space, eliminating the need to travel to a gym.

What areas do you travel to?

Due to traffic in the Lower Mainland and current gas prices, being a mobile personal trainer can be expensive and time-consuming, which is why I generally keep my service area limited to Richmond, South Vancouver, and South Delta. That said, I am more than happy to take inquiries from individuals who reside outside of these communities. Each request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and I’ll do my best to make it work.

I want to hire a personal trainer, but I don’t know where to begin. Any advice?

Starting a new fitness program can be intimidating, especially for beginners. I’m here to guide you through the entire process and make it as comfortable as possible. I offer free consultations to anyone interested, and I hope to answer all of your questions during that time.

What is discussed during the consultation?

During the consultation, we will discuss your goals, fitness habits, experience, and address any questions or concerns you may have. My primary goal of the consultation is to gather information that will allow me to create a tailored program specifically for you. I will talk a little about myself and my training methods, so take this time to determine whether or not you would like to hire me!

Where does the consultation take place?

This will be determined when scheduling a consultation. Ideally, I prefer to have consultations in-person, but I understand due to schedules, location, and other factors, consultations via phone/video may be the only realistic option.

Can you train me at my commercial gym or community centre?

Unfortunately, most gyms do not allow outside trainers to work at their facilities. They usually have in-house trainers and (overpriced) personal training packages they try and sell to members. If you happen to go to a facility that allows outside trainers, I would love to hear about it.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

I understand that life happens. Please give me at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid any fees.

Do you offer virtual training options?

Yes, I offer Fitness Consulting, which can include online support.

What are your qualifications?

I am a Registered Fitness Leader, certified by the BC Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA). My specialties are Fitness Theory, Weight Training and Personal Training, and Older Adult.
